How To Create A Professional Website For Your Business
Building a professional looking website for your small business doesn’t have to be hard. And it doesn’t have to be expensive.
These days there are tools that can help everyone launch their own professional website, even if you have zero technical experience.
If you have an internet connection and a laptop or desktop computer, you’re ready to build your very own professional website.
Let’s Start Creating Your Website
We’ll be able to get this up in 45 minutes or less…
Step 1. Go over to BlueHost and sign up for their cheapest hosting plan.
Your hosting provider is the company that keeps your site online. Essentially, the website hosting is where your website lives.
I’ve used a lot of hosting providers over the years and BlueHost is by far the best combination of affordability, reliability, speed, and cost.
Step 2. Choose your domain.
BlueHost gives you two options when registering. You can either use an existing domain if you already own one. And if you don’t, you can choose a new one quite easily.
I recommend you stick with the .com extension.
Step 3. Install WordPress.
WordPress is your website’s content management system. Think of this like your back office. It allows you to make changes to your website without knowing how to code. Another great thing about BlueHost…they do this for you automatically.
Step 4. Sign Up With LeadPages
LeadPages is a drag and drop page building software. Without this, building a professional website becomes terribly difficult. With LeadPages, creating your professional website from scratch is a snap. They have tons of ready to go templates. Choose the one that represents your business best and easily customize it.
Step 5. Integrate LeadPages and WordPress
Go to your account setting and scroll down to integrations. From there you will find a list of integrations. Find the WordPress integration and download the zip file.
Step 6. Upload the file you just downloaded.
Go back to your WordPress dashboard. You can find the login screen at yoursite.com/wp-admin
Once inside your dashboard, on the left hand side you’ll see “plugins.”
Click on that menu item and selece “Add New”
On the next page, upload that plugin you just downloaded as a Zip file. And then click “Activate Plugin.”
Once this step is done, you will see a “Leadpages” option appear on the left hand menu of your WordPress dashboard.
Step 7. Go back to LeadPages and create your first page.
This will be your website’s home page.
Step 8. After your page is perfect, return to WordPress.
Click on the “Leadpages” menu item and “Add New”.
From the drop down menu select the page you just created.
Check the box that says “Home Page.”
At the very bottom select the option that says “Yes, Cache….”
Hit publish and you’re done.
Congratulations! You have just published your professional website using wordpress.
